Selcerossa
Selcerossa is our Roma DOC Classico and Roma DOC Classico Riserva. First of all, we boast the designation Roma DOC Classico because the grapes we use for these wines come entirely from plots that are located within the municipality of Rome. The name Selcerossa comes from the nature and composition of our land and by extension recalls the entire Terroir of the Castelli Romani. In fact, the flint is a sedimentary rock rich in iron and fossil substances. Its presence is due to the union between the nearby Laziale Volcano and the marine base on which it was formed. With this name we wanted to establish a strong link with our territory, the flint (la 2selce”) is a product extracted from the quarries of our volcanic area and which is linked to the history of Rome as with small blocks of this material (the famous “sanpietrini”) whereby the streets of Rome have been paved
