The work of over 50 winemakers who combine History, Tradition, Innovation, from Vineyards to Wines.
The Territory represents all this… VITUS.
Vitus is here, in the navel of Roman civilization.
Very important for us is the city of Frascati, which gives its name to one of our PDOs wines. Frascati has always been a town of culture and nobility. It was in fact one of the stops of the Grand Tour of Italy between 1500 and 1700 and home to some of the most important noble families in Rome.
In this area, vines have been cultivated for more than 2500 years. Evidence of the “Malvasia Puntinata“ a typical grape variety of this region, can be found in “De Agricolturae” of Catone, and also Emperor Commodus talked about it.
We want to enhance the fruits of our work.
We were protagonists and contributed to the birth of modern wine in this area at the end of the Second World War.
Many of us were the ones who founded the Frascati wine protection consortium between 1946 and 1948.
With our 120 hectares of vineyards, located in all five municipalities of the Frascati DOP, we want to create a long-term project that has environmental, economic, and social sustainability at its center.
Our vineyards illuminated by the City of Rome, cultivated in a project with emphasis on quality, give life to wines of excellence from the slopes of the Lazio Volcano. In every drop of Vitus wines the lymph of Legends, Heroes, Popes, Artists, Peasants, and our Civilisation flows.
Our Project Manager is Mauro De Angelis, he was president of the Frascati wine consortium for 8 years from 2008 to 2016.
Our senior-winemaker is Lorenzo Costantini, one of the most successful Italian oenologists.
We want to convey all this through our wines that are born from the encounter of human expertise and the best fruits of this historic territory.
